My Heart's in Valencia...

Valencia was so pretty. I had high expectations with the world's second largest aquarium being there. And it was everything I imagined plus much more. I got to see my beluga whales, watch an amazing interaction dolphin show with 9 dolphins! Yep, nine! Watched fish swim over me in the tunnels, sea lions bark at each other, and walk in the sunshine while tropical music was playing at the L'Oceanografic. The city of Valencia is so cute, it glows at night. Full of life and lights! There are strands of lights on every street, so beautiful.

Ate at a cute corner cafe, Illy, for breakfast which consisted of hot chocolate (syrup consistency...) and a freshly baked croissant. Yum. Off to the beach Wednesday morning for a brief visit. Watched men pound metal rods into the beach to attract the lightening to fuse sand into glass (think Sweet Home Alabama!!!) since a storm looked to be rolling in.

Loved the city and I am so sad I only was able to spend one day there. However, the train ride to Madrid was very scenic. Even saw a tumbleweed (a tumbleweed mom!!!) rolling through the field. There is red clay as dirt and it makes the scenery so much more colorful. Everything was beautiful, especially the rows and rows of Valencia orange trees!

I have since arrived in Madrid where I am staying for 10 days for class with the group. We are at a very nice hotel with an awesome buffet breakfast! And we no longer receive dinner, so we're on our own for lunch and dinner now, stuffing ourselves at breakfast is our plan to save a few euros (and taking a roll or two to go...).

I was able to watch Home Improvement in Spanish - hilarious! It was nice to watch a show on tv, this is the first time since being over here. We are in a hoppin' part of the city, many shops around and everything to see and explore is within walking distance.

Music class starts tomorrow, and I have a Flamenco workshop and performance to see. Can't wait - we are also stopping at the University of Madrid for a couple of classes. Uploading pictures soon...

Write more later...and thanks for everyone who has been thinking of me!
