Arrived in Barcelona this afternoon, what a scenic train ride! We rode along the coast when we reached southern France and into Spain. So beautiful, views of the Mediterrean with the sunrise were phenomonal. A few clouds rolled in later today, but tonight cleared back up for a good night for us to be sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in.
Ate dinner by the Sea and took a long stroll down the Marina (where tons of sailboats are docked) to the Pier at the very end of the Barcelonita Beach. It was a beautiful night, there are many people out and about, even for a Monday. The town seems full of life and people have been quite friendly so far and helpful.
Our hostel room is clean and the beds are quite soft, tonight's sleep will make up for lost sleep on the overnight train. We don't have a bathroom in our room at this place, but it's nice to have us four all in a room together at least. Tomorrow morning we get breakfast, not sure what, it´ll be a suprise to us. Even if it's just toast we'll be plenty happy. Then off to the beach to read and do homework.
Valencia train leaves Wednesday morning, off to the Aquarium that afternoon (super excited for it!!!) and then taking the train to Madrid for the start of classes with the whole group. Music is the focus for Madrid. We have a novel currently to read, Zoli, about a gypsy women and a few packets to read. And we'll be taking field trips to go Flamenco dancing and watch street performers, sounds like fun to me!
Every day I wake up and go 'Where am I?' It's still unfathomable to me that I have traveled to so many cities already and still have 2 more months to go. Wow.
Write more later...hope to soak up some sun tomorrow.
