Edinburgh

Our hotel is the such an upgrade from the Generator hostel. I am rooming with 7 other girls this time, but we have two showers and two bathrooms in our room. We have a total of four bunk beds. We each have our own locker and there is actually space to walk around! Breakfast and dinner are both included in our stay, the food is buffet style, and once again, such an upgrade from the Generator hostel.

Today I had class until noon, then we were surprised by getting 48 hour tickets to use for the tour buses and three museum passes. Justine, Gina, Katy, and I took the bus to the sea where we got off at a shopping mall area and also where the Royal Yacht Brittania is anchored. It is the Queen's ship, no longer used, but a museum now. It was interesting to see, not quite the most exciting thing in the world though. The scenery was more fun to soak up!!! And the weather today was GORGEOUS. The sun actually decided to make an appearance, and barely a cloud in the sky. We were even able to brave the cool wind to sit on the top of the bus outside to get a better view on Edinburgh.

After the boat tour, we ate lunch at Costa Coffee shop then headed back to town. Hopped onto another bus and went to the Edinburgh Castle. Saw the prettiest view from atop the highest point!

Our theatre class got canceled for Thursday, so I have all day to tour around until our play that night to go to. I think I'll head over to Dalkeith again and visit with Katie and Jenny, or maybe they'll come here. Also, on Valentine's Day, a group of girls from Dalkeith and I are going to see the movie 'He's Just Not That Into You' here in Edinburgh. I'm excited for that. Than later that night the whole group is going out for ITC and our last night in Edinburgh.

Our hotel is in the part of Edinburgh called Old Town, because it really is. It's really cute though. Cobblestone roads, hilly pathways, and buildings that are almost as old as the city. The skyline is beautiful and there is actually snow on the 'hills' (more like mountains) that surround the city. Edinburgh was formed from volcanoes...there's your random fact for the day. :)

So much history here, so much to learn, see, and take in. Tonight getting ahead on homework, eating dinner, then just hanging out with people here. Write more later...
