Keepin Busy!

Man, how time flies. This trip is so amazing..I know I've said it before...but each day is so new and different, I never know exactly what I will be doing and it still feels surreal to me.

Right now I am in Salzburg, The Salt Fortress, Austria and for not knowing what is here am having a very fun time. Music class is the focus here since this is where Mozart was born, so our second night here we had a four course meal at the Fortress and then listened to a Mozart concert. The food was quite good, and we were overlooking the panoramic views of the Bavarian Mountains. Class has been held in our little breakfast area, very cute here at this family run hotel, The Alderhoff. There are booths for us all to sit in!

Sunday was our first day off from class, and a group of us girls went on the Sound of Music bus tour. It was so neat! Basically the whole movie was either filmed in the area of Salzburg or in a Hollywood studio. I got to see the Von Trapp House and Lake, the white Gazebo, the Do-Re-Mi fountain and steps, and so much more. It was a fantastic tour and we got out to take pictures at a lot of places too!

Then, just today, Katy and I went on a Salt Mine tour and Bavarian Mountains tour. It was so scenic. Beautiful views of the mountains, there was a lot of snow up there! I can indeed say that I tasted the snow in Germany! And to conclude the tour we were dropped off at the Salt Mines were we suited up in a miners jumpsuit and rode into the mountain, then slide down a couple slides, took a short boat ride underground as well, and learned all about mining salt in the great mountains.

This has been a lovely city and I although I leave on Thursday already, I am excited to see what Vienna, or Wien as they spell it over here, is like. I have two days to get there and there is a group of us going to the small spa town of Bad Ischl and staying in a hostel. Going to get some homework done and possible a soak in the salt pools...

Having a blast traveling....my backpack can close on its own pretty much now since I have dwindled my belongings down, no sitting on it to get the zippers to close. What a relief! :)
